Welcome Address - Local Organizing Committee

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We are honoured that the 30^th SECEC Annual Congress is to be held in Ireland in 2022. As the world continues to recover from the covid-19 pandemic, we look forward to coming together again and welcoming you to our capital city. We are very pleased to be able to host the meeting at the Dublin Convention Centre, a truly world class venue.

Shoulder and elbow surgery in Ireland has been growing rapidly as a subspecialty and 2016 saw us establish our national society, the Irish Shoulder and Elbow Society. We are therefore a relatively “young” country in terms of national societies and we are looking forward to further growth in the coming years. The opportunity to host one of the most important scientific meetings in this subspecialty in the world will surely inspire our current and future generations to continue to advance the science and art of shoulder and elbow care.

Dublin is a lively European city with its own distinct history and has much to offer our visitors. A multitude of bars and restaurants cater to all tastes. Conference delegates will also enjoy many and varied cultural offerings within the city and surrounding area. The local organising committee will ensure an entertaining and engaging social programme makes your visit to Dublin memorable.

We look forward to renewing old friendships, forming new ones, hosting enlightening discussion and debates and most of all celebrating the world of shoulder and elbow in 2022.
