Presentation Guidelines Speakers and Moderators


Free Paper Sessions Guidelines

All speakers have to deliver their talk before the start of their session to the Speakers' Preview Room.

The Speakers' Preview Room will be located on the Ground floor, at the Strasbourg Hall located close to the Technical Secretariat.
 

OPENING HOURS SPEAKERS' PREVIEW ROOM:
Monday, September 16th 2024 15.00-19.00
Tuesday, September 17th 2024 07.00-18.00
Wednesday, September 18th 2024 07.00-18.00
Thursday, September 19th 2024 07.00-18.00
Friday, September 20th 2024 07.00-18.00

GENERAL
5 minute presentation for each free paper.
Each session of Free papers has been split into two blocks, discussion will be held at the end of each block.

IF YOU ARE A MODERATOR:
Please locate your session room in due time. Please be at your session room at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session.

We remind you that speakers need to strictly observe the time schedule: 5 min presentation for each free paper.

Each session of Free papers has been split into two blocks, discussion will be held at the end of each block – it has been planned for approx. 2 min discussion for each paper if necessary.

Microphones for questions will be available in each session room. Participants - Audience in the discussion should not speak before they are recognized by the chair and must first clearly state their name, institution and country of origin.

IF YOU ARE A SPEAKER:
Presentations must be prepared ONLY in PowerPoint and provided on a USB-removable drive (any other type of presentation such as keynote must be converted into PowerPoint).

Speakers are not permitted to bring PowerPoint presentations directly to the technical staff in the lecture halls.

The use of personal laptops for presentations in the session is strictly prohibited.

Speakers should deliver and view/check their PowerPoint presentations at the Speaker's Preview Room at least 2 hours prior to the beginning of the respective session for organizational reasons.

Please locate your session room in due time. Please be at your session room at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session.

Technical staff will be available in the Speakers' Preview Room to assist you with loading your presentation.

Presentations will be transferred from server to the session room electronically.

Protection of copyright will be guaranteed and the presentations will be deleted after the Congress.

Please note that presentation time is strictly limited, no exceptions. Time your presentation carefully according to the time dedicated in each session: 5 minute presentation for each free paper. You have to stay at the meeting room until the end of the discussion block.

Comments
Keynote lectures: there is no discussion, you just need to introduce the speaker. Sessions held at the Main Auditorium, Room Madrid, and Sessions on Controversies: the moderator/chair should start the session delivering a short introduction of the topic (max 5 minutes), followed by the introduction of the speakers, and guide the final discussion panel. Other sessions: introduction of the speakers, and guide the final discussion panel.

IF YOU ARE A SPEAKER:
The presentation AV system is based on PowerPoint so we strongly recommend to bring your presentation in PPT format.
Keynote will be accepted only in masterclasses and keynote lectures. Our AV Technical Team will be available if you need any type of help / support to convert the keynote presentation in PPT.

Speakers are not permitted to bring presentations directly to the technical staff in the lecture halls.
